Men & Girls Dance Auditions
Fevered Sleep are looking for girls aged 8-11 to take part in our show Men & Girls Dance.
Men & Girls Dance brings together two very different groups of performers: adult, male professional contemporary dancers, and girls who dance for fun.
Men & Girls Dance is a celebration of the rights of adults and children to be together and to dance together. It is a celebration of tenderness, empathy, care, protection and love.
The show went on tour in 2016 across the country. During each of these residencies, we worked with a new company of girls from their local area. In April 2017, we will work with a new company of girls from London.
Fevered Sleep will hold a series of free and fun creative audition workshops, run by Samantha Butler and David Harradine, Artistic Directors of Fevered Sleep, working with one dancer from the male performing company.
During the workshops, the girls will take part in games and improvisations similar to those used in rehearsals. We are looking for girls who are enthusiastic and love dancing for fun. No formal dance experience is necessary, only commitment and a sense of adventure. We want to create a balanced company of a range of different young performers.
After the workshop we will choose a company of 9 girls to rehearse and perform in Men & Girls Dance at The Place in April 2017.
